This pre-conference workshop offers an interactive, immersive experience to support public health professionals to understand practical ways they can more routinely apply an equity lens in data activities such as evaluations, surveillance, assessments and beyond. The workshop draws on data equity thought leadership, offers real-world examples, includes a community health needs assessment case study and facilitated group activity and provides supplemental resources.

This interactive pre-conference workshop encompasses structured activities scheduled in between self-guided activities, all focused on self-care and burnout prevention. Structured activities include a presentation, guided yoga, and a painting activity. In between each structured activity, you’ll have time to complete various self-care activities at stations, where facilitation guides will also be available for you to take back and use in your work.

This pre-conference workshop introduces jGPHA’s Georgia Talking About Public Health (GTAPH) initiative, providing strategies to foster equitable collaborations between faculty, students, practitioners, and community partners. Participants will learn to navigate differences in goals, environments, and experience levels, develop inclusive authorship practices, and build partnerships that result in impactful, high-quality publications advancing public health knowledge.
