Georgia residents have two new tools to help them access important information about 2009 H1N1 Influenza. The Georgia Department of Community Health recently launched a vaccine provider locator website and 2 toll-free telephone hotlines.
The Georgia H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Provider Locator allows users to find a 2009 H1N1 vaccine provider in 4 steps:
1. Log on to health.state.ga.us/h1n1flu
2. Click on the H1N1 Provider Locator button
3. Enter a 5-digit zip code and select your preferred distance for travel to the provider’s office
4. Click on ‘Search for a Provider’
The tool will show a list of providers within a 2 mile to 30 mile radius based on the distance from the zip code entered. The public should call in advance to confirm current availability of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine prior to arriving at a provider’s office.
The two telephone hotlines were created to give residents and health care providers instant access to information about 2009 H1N1 Influenza. One hotline is for the general public to call for information about vaccines, disease prevention and more. That number is 1-888-H1N1-INFO, or 1-888-4161-4636.
The second hotline is specifically designated for health care providers, and can be accessed at 1-888-H1N1-MED, or 1-888-4161-633.
