The budget news coming out of Atlanta isn’t all doom and gloom. This week’s legislative report from our GPHA Legislative Liaison Scott Maxwell includes information on a bill signed by Governor Brian Kemp that will require the collection of sales taxes on certain online purchases. Estimates of how much new revenue the law will bring in varies from $120 million to $750 million per year.
The report also outlines several legislative efforts to reduce the smoking and vaping rate in Georgia, especially among youth. Bills are being introduced to put age limits on vaping products, ban vaping flavors, and increase the excise tax.
