Climate for Health and Georgia Public Health Association are partnering to offer the “Climate for Health Ambassador Training,” as a live, free virtual training on January 22, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm ET / 10:00 – 1:00 pm PT.
This training is accredited for three units of continuing education at NO COST for doctors, nurses, PAs, pharmacists, social workers, dentists, and dieticians. Regional breakouts offer you a chance to connect with local health leaders taking action on climate. Build your knowledge, network, and tools to take climate action that protects health. The training is practical, inspiring, and backed by science. Content includes:
- Chapter 1: The Health Case for Climate Action, Climate Basics
- Chapter 2: Impacts on Human Health, Health Equity
- Chapter 3: Public Health & Climate Solutions
- Chapter 4: Communicating on Climate + Health
- Chapter 5: Advocacy & Engagement, Making a Difference as an Ambassador
You will be trained to lead presentations, communicate effectively, and invite others into meaningful climate action. You can put your knowledge and skills to use by joining the Ambassador Community at the end of the training which provides access to:
- Localized resources, talking points, customizable presentations, and events to help effectively talk about and take action on climate.
- A private online network of thousands of Ambassadors across the U.S. to learn from and collaborate with, and additional training to build your skills.
- On-going support to facilitate direct advocacy opportunities like writing blogs, op-eds, and letters to the editor, participating in candidate forums or giving public comments, rallies, contacting elected officials, and more.
- Connections with local health leaders who are taking action on climate.
