The Coastal Health District (CHD) laboratory is a full service, state-certified laboratory specializing in water testing for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, and blood lead testing.  The CHD lab also offers chemical testing for water and soil.

The qualified lab staff has earned the respect of both state agencies and private customers alike by providing accurate testing along with prompt and professional service.

Blood Lead Testing
The CHD lab performs blood lead tests with an expedited turnaround time of 24 to 48 hours following receipt of the specimen to the lab.  Lab staff will file Medicaid reimbursement.  If you are interested in using the CHD lab for blood lead testing, please call 912-356-2148 to set up an account and to receive a lead testing packet.

Water Testing
The CHD lab specializes in water testing for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.  Typical tests are completed in approximately 5 to 7 business days, depending on tests ordered.  The lab provides comprehensive reports and detailed course of action if serious problems exist with the water.  Sample request forms and collection kits are provided through the CHD Lab.
