The 2016 session of the Georgia General Assembly is officially concluded, and now Governor Nathan Deal has 40 days (until May 3rd) to sign of veto the bills that reached his office, or allow them to become law without his signature.

Legislative Report for March 18

Several bills related to public health have passed both the House and Senate and are now on the desk of Governor Nathan Deal, include the “Campus Carry” bill related to guns on college campuses, a bill referring to taxes on tobacco products, and an Influenza Education bill affecting assisted living communities.

Legislative Update for Feb. 19, 2016

Public Health bills being followed include HB 919 related to establishing rural health care organizations, HB 873 which is the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act, and HB 129 which would allow communities to impose or remove fluoride from the public water system under certain circumstances.
