Administration Outstanding Service Award Added
We’ve added another GPHA Section Award, recognizing outstanding public health administrators. If you know someone working hard to improve fiscal and administrative operations of public health, show support by nominating them for this award! Nominations due Friday, January 10, 2014.
Deadline Extended for Award Nominations
Did the holiday rush keep you from making the deadline for award nominations? Then you’ll be glad to know we’ve extended the nomination deadline until this Friday, January 10th at 5 p.m.! So if you’d like to nominate a colleague, partner, agency or organization for one of the GPHA section awards or the Sellers-McCroan Award, it’s not too late.

Now Accepting Nominations for Sellers-McCroan Award
The Georgia Public Health Association is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Sellers-McCroan Award. The Award is presented annually to an individual or group whose work has had significant impact on epidemiology and/or laboratory services at the state, district or county levels; in academia; or in hospitals.

Sen. Unterman Recognized for her Work in Public Health
Georgia Senator Renee Unterman is receiving national recognition for public health advocacy, and has been named Legislator of the Year by the National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH). GPHA nominated Sen. Unterman for the award.

Deadline Extended for Workshop Abstract Submission
The poster and workshop abstract submission forms are now available for those wishing to present at the 2014 GPHA Annual Meeting & Conference, March 10 & 11 in Atlanta, GA. The new deadline for submission is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH, 2013 at 5pm.
