Michelle L. Allen is the Research and Development Institute Director for Positive Impact Health Centers. In this role, Mrs. Allen actively researches, creatively designs, and strategically implements effective methods to educate staff, enhance programmatic performance, and increase organizational presence on both a local and national scale.
Mrs. Allen’s dedication to public health is widely recognized and she has served as a past Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Coalition of STD Directors. She has previously sat on the Advisory Board for the STD/HIV Prevention Training Center at John Hopkins University. She has received several awards for her dedication to the area of Public Health including being the first recipient of the Brenda Fitzgerald Leadership Award from the Georgia Department of Public Health. She was also honored to receive the 2014 Janet Stancliff Epidemiology Award from the Georgia Public Health Association. She was the proud recipient of the 2015 Red Pump Award for her work in HIV/AIDS, and the 2015 Flame Thrower Award for her work in public health. In 2017 she received the Catalyst for Change from Above the Status Quo. In 2019 she received the Community MVP Award from Nu Phi Zeta Fraternity, Inc.
Mrs. Allen is a force for change in the state of Georgia and continues to forge a formidable presence at the national level as well. She has been an invited conference speaker at several national conferences including the National STD Conference, the HIV Prevention Leadership Conference, the American Public Health Association Conference, and the National Latino HIV and HCV Conference.
Although her passion for public health is unyielding, she is equally dedicated to her sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and commits herself to community service. Mrs. Allen is a proud alumnus of Georgia Southern University, and Emory University.
