GPHA member Russell Toal is the 2014 Karl E. Peace Leadership Award recipient. The award recognizes “leadership in expanding the impact of public health among their peers and/or in the state of Georgia,” and is given annually by the The Gamma Theta Chapter of Delta Omega at Georgia Southern University.

Russell Toal is a lifetime GPHA member, a past president of GPHA, and is currently serving as chair of the McIntosh County Board of Health.

The award has previously been presented to Dr. Robert Vogel in 2013, and Dr. Karl E. Peace in 2012.
